Parents have been urged to pick up their kids from a childcare centre in Sydney’s lower north shore immediately after the centre was suspended over significant safety concerns.
Jenny’s Kindergarten & Early Learning Centre at Lane Cove North was suspended for six months by the NSW Department of Education’s regulatory body on Friday following “serious breaches”.
Parents and carers have been asked to pick their children up immediately.
A NSW Early Childhood Education and Care Regulatory Authority spokesperson said children had been exposed to “unacceptable risks” at the centre.

“The regulatory authority has immediately suspended service operations at Jenny’s Kindergarten and Early Learning Centre in Lane Cove North due to significant concerns related to children’s safety,” the spokesperson said.
“Children have been exposed to unacceptable risks, and we have taken immediate action to address those risks.
“As our investigation is ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.
“We acknowledge the challenge this presents for families; however, there is no greater priority than the safety of children.”
