When it comes to driving, it is important to be cautious and stay safe, and many are choosing dash cams for an added layer of protection. On Amazon, one dash cam has been reduced in a limited-time deal, and shoppers are buying more than one.

The GKU 4K Dash Cam Front and Rear is currently available from Amazon for £54.99, down from £84.99, saving shoppers 35% in the deal. The brand says it ‘captures the road in detail’ with a front resolution of 4K and rear resolution of 1080P.

With a 170° wide-angle lens, large F1.8 aperture, and WDR night vision, clear footage can be captured even in low-light situations to ‘ensure every angle is covered and nothing is missed’, the brand says. Plus, with the GKU GO app for Android or iOS smartphones, users can live stream, download videos, adjust settings, edit, and share the footage with ease.

The brand describes it as the ‘perfect dash cam for cars, trucks, and SUVs’ and, when the SD card is full, new recordings will overwrite the oldest ones automatically. The front and rear camera will automatically detect sudden vibration or shock, triggered by a G-sensor.

It also automatically switches to parking mode when the car is parked, ensuring ‘constant surveillance’. However, the brand says that enabling 24-hour parking monitoring requires a Hardwire Kit, which is not included. Plus, it says the Wi-Fi is effective between 3m and 5m and remote connection not supported.

The dash cam features a sleek design with a Type-C interface, measuring a compact size of 3.5 x 1.8 x 1.4 inches. Plus, its detachable design and 120° adjustable function make ‘installation and removal effortless’, the site says.

However, Argos has some other options available, such as this Road Angel 2025 Halo Ignite 2 1080p Full HD Compact Dash Cam for £39.99 – its lowest price ever, according to the site. This has a rotatable 1080p lens with a 120-degree view, quick-release mount, and discreet wiring for easy installation.

Or over at Boots, there is this RED5 HD Dash Cam for £28. This features a 2.5″ LCD display and high-speed recording, ensuring ‘crisp, clear footage day or night’, the site says. It also has video and image modes, and it is ready to use with an included SD card.

Shoppers have written positively about the GKU 4K Dash Cam Front and Rear on Amazon, leaving an average 4.3 out of five-star rating from more than 7,800 reviews. One said as part of a longer review: “Bought two of these, one for each car. We have a Nissan Qashqai and a Toyota Yaris Cross. It was super easy to install in both cars.”

A second wrote as part of a longer review: “I recently purchased the GKU 4K dash cam and couldn’t be more impressed. This dash cam offers outstanding value with both front and rear cameras, delivering clear, high-resolution footage in 4K for the front and full HD for the rear. The video quality is excellent both during the day and at night thanks to its effective night vision feature, which adds a layer of security, especially in low-light conditions.”

A third said: “Initial impressions – really good. Very nicely packaged, good instructions and thoughtful inclusions (trim tool). Very easy to setup and it just works. I haven’t had to use it but there appears to be lots of UK support and almost a bit of a GKU community to call upon.”

Others left some feedback for the dash cam, with one writing as part of a longer review: “The camera itself is great, was simple to setup. Good price. Nice and discreet in my car. Only thing that lets it down is the app.”

Another wrote: “One small gripe (but it is probably me not adjusting the settings) – when driving I occasionally get a voice saying ‘Wi-Fi connected’ or ‘Wi-Fi disconnected’. But again it is not a major distraction. Their customer care is wonderful and they are really helpful.”
