Crypto.com and Hollywood.com are teaming up to introduce a groundbreaking way for fans to engage with their favorite entertainment. As reported by Cointelegraph, the two companies are launching prediction markets where users can wager on outcomes tied to movies, TV shows, music, and major awards. This first-of-its-kind initiative—dubbed Crypto Hollywood—blends pop culture with regulated financial technology.
A Regulated Entertainment Market
The platform will be operated by Crypto.com Derivatives North America (CDNA), which is fully registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). This ensures that U.S. regulatory standards protect participants as they make predictions and trade contracts within the system.
How It Works
Fans will be able to place bets on entertainment events such as:
- Which movie will top the weekend box office
- Who will win major TV or music awards
- Which artist will hit #1 on the charts
- Whether a Broadway show will set a new record
Contract prices will update in real time, allowing users to adjust their predictions as public sentiment, ratings, or news shifts. This turns spectators into participants, giving fans a deeper sense of involvement in the entertainment they follow.
Hollywood.com co-CEO Mitchell Rubenstein explained, “We’re giving fans a voice in predicting the moments that define entertainment.” The platform aims to make audiences feel like they truly have a stake in the success of their favorite artists and productions.
Why It Matters
Prediction markets have already gained traction in areas like politics, sports, and economics through platforms such as Kalshi and Polymarket. Now, Crypto.com and Hollywood.com are expanding that concept into entertainment—a global industry with massive audiences and devoted fan communities.
For Crypto.com, the move supports its broader goal of offering regulated, consumer-friendly financial products while attracting new users who might not normally trade cryptocurrencies. “We’re excited to offer customers a new way to engage with their favorite content,” said Travis McGhee of Crypto.com.
What to Know Before You Bet
Even under regulation, prediction contracts remain speculative, not traditional investments—so users should be aware that they can lose their wagers. The companies are still finalizing details such as launch timing and available contract types, but categories will include film, television, music, and live entertainment.
Coming Soon
The official launch date hasn’t been announced yet, but once live, Crypto Hollywood will let fans predict entertainment outcomes in real time—and potentially profit from accurate calls.
