After deciding late that he wanted a career in sports journalism, Daniel worked his way up the ladder in an unconventional manner.
Having opted against university, Daniel worked with Sky Sports as a freelance contributor and translator during transfer windows while also volunteering on several other blog pages and outlets to get a portfolio of content together.

Arsenal are exploring a move to sign Atletico Madrid superstar Julian Alvarez to strengthen their attack in the summer transfer window, according to ESPN.
The Gunners have had a magnificent season so far as Mikel Arteta looks to end their seven-year trophy drought, with the team sat top of the Premier League and Champions League tables, while they also have a 3-2 lead over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final and are in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
But despite all their successes, the club are still looking for ways to make the squad even stronger, and the Argentina international has been earmarked as an ideal arrival at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal Exploring Julian Alvarez Deal
Alvarez, who has been described as the best player in the world by Fernando Torres, was previously a Premier League winner with Manchester City, but made the move to the Spanish capital in the summer of 2024 in a deal worth up to £81.5m
Last season, the 25-year-old scored 29 goals in 57 appearances for the club, and far this season the World Cup winner has managed 11 goals in 28 appearances. Those performances have attracted the attention of several clubs, and Arsenal are reportedly exploring the possibility of bringing him back to England’s top flight this summer.
The player is under contract at the Wanda Metropolitano until 2030, and while he has a €500m (£434m) release clause in his contract, it’s understood that Atleti would demand a fee worth in excess of €100m (£87m) should they decide to sanction a deal.
It’s understood that Arsenal chief Andrea Berta, who joined the club from Atletico Madrid last summer, and is the man who brokered Alvarez’s deal to join them, retains a strong relationship with the player and his representatives, and Arsenal have made informal enquiries to find out information about a deal.
Gyokeres Experiment to End Quickly?
Arsenal have known that scoring goals isn’t a big issue, but having a consistent goal threat in the number nine position has been a problem in recent years, and that’s why they moved to sign Viktor Gyokeres in the summer.

However, the Swede has struggled to make the impact that many hoped he would, and he has registered just nine goals in 27 appearances for the club, with just five coming in the Premier League.
He has played regularly in Arteta’s team, but it’s clear that he has failed to adapt to the style of football Arsenal want to play, and his technical deficiencies have been on show for everyone to see. The addition of Alvarez would be a significant upgrade to the team, and could well spell the end of the Gyokeres experiment in north London.
