Job Title: Commercial Manager (Fitout)

A leading construction and fit-out service provider based in Cambridge is looking to strengthen their team with an experienced and strategic Commercial Manager to lead their Commercial team and oversee all commercial functions. This role is pivotal in driving profitable and sustainable growth across their portfolio of office and laboratory fit-out projects ranging in value from £100,000 to £8m.
As the Commercial Manager you will have the following responsibilities:
* Lead the commercial management of multiple high-end fit-out projects (Cat A, Cat B and refurbishments).
* Lead, mentor and manage a team of Quantity Surveyors and Estimators.
* Develop and implement commercial strategy aligned with business goals.
* Oversee contract negotiations, budgeting, forecasting and risk management from pre-construction to final account.
* Liaise and build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners to ensure commercial alignment.
* Conduct market analysis to identify growth opportunities.
Successful applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:
* Proven experience in a senior commercial role within the fit-out construction industry.
* Background with a main contractor or specialist fit-out contractor.
* Strong understanding of JCT contracts and commercial risk.
* Strong understanding of commercial and contractual aspects of fit-out projects.
* Excellent leadership, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
* Advanced financial acumen and analytical ability.
* Professional, pragmatic, and calm under pressure.
* Degree in Construction Management, Business or Finance (desirable).
* RICS or CIOB membership (desirable).
