The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, has challenged the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, to a debate on national television.
Naija News reports that Abdullahi threw the challenge on Friday while speaking on Channels Television’s ‘The Morning Brief’ programme.
While speaking on the 2027 election, Abdullahi questioned the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government on how the Electoral Act passed will improve the transparency and credibility of the election.
According to the ADC chieftain, the ruling party is irritated by the opposition parties’ existence, stressing that they will not be silenced.
Abdullahi also berated the APC National Public Secretary, Felix Morka, over the use of insults and degrading language in their press releases.
He said, “If you can get Bayo Onanuga to come on TV to debate this with me, I will be ready to debate. Not just reading his statement. Let him come and debate this with me. Let us sit down and face each other and let him show us how this Electoral Act that they have passed will improve the transparency and the credibility of the election.
“What you see about this APC government is that they seem to be irritated that there is opposition at all. The response you get from them is, who are these people asking us questions? They would rather nobody ask questions. They would rather nobody challenge them.
