Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has decided to restrict media access for players and assistant coaches this week as the Buffaloes prepare for Saturday’s game at West Virginia.
An unprecedented turn of events from the program after terrible back-to-back losses at Utah and against Arizona. According to Colorado beat reporter Brian Howell, this hasn’t happened during his tenure at the Boulder Daily Camera.
Following a 52-17 loss to Arizona, Sanders announced that he would handle all media responsibilities. Colorado players and staff were also unavailable for interviews after Saturday’s defeat.
“It’s on me,” Sanders said after the game. “Don’t attack the coordinators. Come at me. Don’t attack the players. Come at me.”

Sanders is schedule to meet with the media on Tuesday morning in Boulder. He’s currently 16-18 in overall and 9-15 in conference play over the past three years. Colorado has been outscored 105-24 over the past two games after a bye week. To make matters worse, the Buffs will need to win out for a postseason bid.
Kickoff against West Virginia is set for noon ET Saturday on TNT.
