Major crypto exchange Coinbase has announced a systems upgrade scheduled for the month of August.
In a recent update, the crypto exchange disclosed that the systems upgrade has been rescheduled to Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025, at 7:00 a.m. PT, and is expected to last approximately three hours. As reported, the upgrade was previously scheduled for 7:00 a.m. PT on Saturday, July 19, 2025, before the change.
According to the announcement, the upgrade might affect some of Coinbase’s services. During the upgrade, Simple and Advanced Trade, deposits and withdrawals, transfers out of Coinbase and the use of the Coinbase Card might be unavailable. Also, transfers into Coinbase may be delayed. However, users will still be able to access their account during the upgrade.
In light of this, users are advised to plan accordingly, especially if they need to deposit or withdraw funds or execute trades around the scheduled upgrade period. It might be advisable to also complete any urgent transactions before the systems upgrade begins.
Funds remain safe during the upgrade, and full functionality is expected to resume once the process is complete.
In recent news, Coinbase revealed new tokens it will be adding to its roadmap, the crypto assets it has affirmatively decided to list.
Three assets on the Ethereum blockchain (ERC-20 tokens) were recently added to the roadmap, including QCAD (QCAD), Sky (SKY) and USDS (USDS). The launch of trading for these assets is dependent on market-making support and sufficient technical infrastructure. Coinbase stated it will announce the launch of trading separately once these conditions are met.
In other news, Wormhole (W) is now available on Coinbase as well as the Coinbase iOS and Android apps.
