
COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — The City of Coeur d’Alene is looking for applicants to fill the open seat left by newly elected Mayor Dan Gookin.
Gookin was elected as the new Coeur d’Alene Mayor earlier this month, leaving open Council Seat No. 3 when he becomes mayor on January 6, 2025.
Here are some of the qualifications for applicants, according to the City of Coeur d’Alene.
The city also listed additional desired qualifications, which include experience with serving on community commissions like Planning and Zoning or parks, active involvement in the community and volunteer activity in the community.
Interested applicants must contact the City Clerk for an application. Applicants can submit their applications to the City Clerk at City Hall (710 E. Mullan Avenue, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho) or they can be emailed to [email protected]. You can also reach out to the City Clerk at (208) 769-2231 with any questions you may have.
Applications can include a resume, cover letter and letters of reference.
If applications are mailed, the city said it must be received by the application deadline, which is Monday, December 15 at 4 p.m.
The city said if applicants are selected for interviews, those interviews will be scheduled before the council.
Whoever is appointed to Coeur d’Alene City Council Seat No. 3 will serve in the role until January 4, 2028.
