
CLEMSON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – A case of measles was confirmed at Clemson’s main campus, according to the university.
The university announced Saturday that the South Carolina Department of Public Health informed university officials of the confirmed case.
The infected person has entered quarantine, and the department is working to learn who else may have been exposed and outlining isolation and quarantine protocols, according to officials.
The department said emails will be sent to anyone found to have been exposed.
The most recent data from Student Health Services shows nearly 98% of main campus students have provided proof of immunity, according to the university.
As of Friday, the total number of cases connected to the Upstate measles outbreak surpassed 500. The latest end for quarantine for these individuals is Feb. 16.
