The Los Angeles Chargers are approaching a major reunion.
Keenan Allen could be coming back to his NFL home.
Allen visited the Chargers on Friday, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Pelissero adds that there is mutual interest in an Allen return to play for the Chargers.
He was originally a 2013 third-round draft pick by the then-San Diego Chargers.
He played 11 seasons with a lightning bolt on his helmet.
In those 11 seasons, Allen had 904 catches for 10,530 yards and 59 touchdowns.

Allen left last offseason to go play for the Chicago Bears with rookie quarterback Caleb Williams and proved he can still get the job done. With the Bears, Allen had 70 catches for 744 yards and seven touchdowns.
He’s been a free agent since March and has yet to sign with an NFL team.
Now having reached August, it’s getting into crunch time for Allen to get into a camp, learn a system and tune up for the 2025 regular season.
The Chargers have a bit of a wide receiver opening after Mike Williams’ surprise retirement in July. Williams had just signed to return to the Chargers in March, but on the first day of training camp, it was announced he was hanging up his cleats.

Allen would be a veteran presence on a young receiving corps led by Ladd McConkey. The Chargers’ current WR group also includes Quentin Johnston, Jalen Reager, Derius Davis and rookies Tre’ Harris and KeAndre Lambert-Smith.
The Chargers got their preseason underway Thursday night with a dominant win in the Hall of Fame Game over the Lions.
If they can get Allen back, that’d be an even bigger win.
