We are rolling on with CES 2026 coverage all week, and Lenovo has announced its new ThinkPad and ThinkBook lineup for this year. My favorite, the ThinkPad X9, is back with a slightly different design, and of course the X1 is back too.

Estimated reading time: 12 minutes

The business lineup from Lenovo is always a fan favorite, as the ThinkPad is made for business, but a broad range of users love these machines. Here’s what Lenovo unveiled today!

ThinkPad, ThinkBook, Business 2026

Alongside innovative updates to the ThinkPad X1 Aura Edition series, the performance-focused ThinkPad X1 915p Aura Edition, the adaptive ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist, and new ThinkCentre X Series desktops, Lenovo is expanding its solutions ecosystem with productivity accessories and refreshed Lenovo Premier Support service.

Together, they reflect Lenovo’s ongoing effort to bring its vision of Smarter AI for All to life through purposeful design, practical innovation, and trusted reliability. Looking ahead, Lenovo is also previewing concept technologies and emerging agentic AI experiences that illustrate how future devices will become more adaptive, connected, and intelligent across the workplace. These elements provide a glimpse into how Lenovo is shaping a future of cross-device intelligence.

ThinkPad Proof of Concept

Alongside its new portfolio, Lenovo will also unveil several proof-of-concept innovations that explore how AI and adaptive design can transform work, creativity, and collaboration across a range of customer segments. One of these, the ThinkPad Rollable XD Concept, is being developed to offer an early look at Lenovo’s vision for the next era of contextual, intelligent devices.

Lenovo is also previewing Lenovo Qira, its new personal AI super agent designed to bring greater continuity and context across devices. Lenovo Qira, called a Personal Ambient Intelligence System, will begin rolling out on select Lenovo and Motorola products in 2026, helping employees move more easily between PCs, tablets, and phones by keeping information and tasks connected. Developed with a privacy-first hybrid AI architecture, it is designed to complement Lenovo’s commercial portfolio by supporting more natural, adaptive workflows over time.

Aura Edition 2026

As Lenovo Aura Edition imagined with Intel devices, the new ThinkPad X1, ThinkPad X9 15p, and ThinkCentre X AIO systems feature Lenovo’s latest updated user experiences. Smart Modes intelligently adapts system settings to personalize the PC experience and help users stay focused, protected, and productive with minimal effort.

Smart Share simplifies collaboration with Tap-to-Share that now includes video sharing as well as instant photo sharing between supported devices, along with planned support for Tap-to-Pair2, which will enable faster, more seamless Bluetooth® accessory connections in a future update. Smart Care provides an AI-assisted helper for end-user troubleshooting, complemented by an optional Lenovo Device Orchestration subscription service that gives IT teams additional fleet management insight and support.

ThinkPad X1 Edition

At CES 2026, Lenovo introduced the latest ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 14 Aura Edition and ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 Gen 11 Aura Edition, two flagship AI laptops that redefine what professionals can expect from an ultra premium business notebook. Both models debut Lenovo’s new Space Frame design, an engineering breakthrough that restructures the interior to allow components to be placed on both sides of the motherboard. This optimized space enables improved cooling, contributing to higher sustained performance, and in addition supports faster, simpler repairs with replaceable USB ports, battery, keyboard, speakers, and fans. It also makes room for a larger haptic touchpad.

Space Frame is the foundation for these advances, demonstrating the kind of purposeful innovation that has defined the ThinkPad legacy for more than three decades. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon, now having sold more than ten million units since its debut in 2012, continues to stand as a symbol of this long-standing commitment to thoughtful engineering.

Powered by Intel® Core™ Ultra X7 Series 3 processors with up to 12Xe graphics and featuring integrated NPUs for advanced on-device AI acceleration, the new ThinkPad X1 Copilot+ PCs deliver significant performance gains and improved energy efficiency. The updated thermal architecture provides up to 20 percent better heat dissipation, allowing the systems to maintain 30 W of sustained power, and paired with faster LPDDR5x 9600 MHz memory, they handle demanding workloads from analytics to content creation with ease.

The ThinkPad X1 Carbon and X1 2-in-1 Aura Editions both introduce a new 10MP camera with a wide field of view (110 degrees) that includes advanced distortion correction provided by Immervision for the best image quality and user experience. The newly designed ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 now features a new, ergonomically designed, magnetically docked pen that offers improved storage and charging convenience.

Built with sustainability improvements in mind, the latest ThinkPad X1 series features easy-to-replace components, plastic-free primary packaging, and a chassis containing up to 75 percent recycled aluminum and 90 percent recycled magnesium. The ThinkPad X1 also achieved a class-leading repairability score of 9 out of 10 from iFixit, reflecting design improvements that simplify common technician-performed repairs, including modular USB-C ports, a daughterboard that isolates select I/O components for easier service, and a keyboard assembly engineered for faster technician access. Together, the new ThinkPad X1 Carbon and X1 2-in-1 represent Lenovo’s relentless pursuit of purposeful innovation where performance, intelligence, and responsible design meet the needs of modern business.

ThinkPad X9 15p

For SMBs, prosumers, and creators who demand desktop-class performance in a mobile form, the ThinkPad X9 15p Aura Edition pushes the limits of what a professional laptop can deliver. Building on the bold X9 design introduced last year, the device features a precision-milled all-aluminum chassis with Lenovo’s distinctive Engine Hub design and full I/O support, now including a full-size SD card reader. Combining 45W TDP processing with a massive 88Wh battery, it delivers sustained performance and all-day unplugged endurance.

The 15.3-inch 2.8K OLED display, factory calibrated by X-Rite®, with a 120 Hz variable refresh rate, HDR1000 True Black certification, and 1,100 nits peak brightness, offers vivid color accuracy for creative professionals.

Inside its precision-built chassis, the X9 15p Copilot+ PC16 is powered by up to Intel Core Ultra X9 Series 3 processors with built-in Intel Arc GPU featuring up to 12Xe cores and supports up to 64 GB LPDDR5x memory (9600 MT/s)15 for fast, responsive performance across heavy workflows.

To make everyday interaction easier, the X9 15p offers ThinkPad’s largest haptic touchpad (135 × 85 mm), offering more precise and comfortable control. For clearer hybrid collaboration, the wide-field-of-view 10 MP camera works together with a newly engineered six-speaker audio system to deliver sharper video and more immersive sound during meetings. Built with 50 percent recycled aluminum and registered EPEAT® Gold10, the X9 15p reflects Lenovo’s commitment to performance, precision, and more sustainable craftsmanship.

Hybrid Ecosystem

From the desktop to the daily commute, Lenovo’s latest accessories extend the Lenovo Aura Edition experience across environments:

* ThinkPad Dual-Mode Wireless ANC Foldable Headset 8550: Certified for Microsoft Teams and featuring sound by Bose technology, the sleek and lightweight headset offers adaptive hybrid ANC and AI-based environmental noise cancellation for clear communication and up to 58 hours of playback.

* ThinkPad Bluetooth Presenter Mouse: A dual-function device that switches instantly between presentation and navigation modes, with an AI shortcut button for quick access to on-device assistance and multi-device Bluetooth connectivity.

* ThinkPad 16-inch Click-Go Backpack: A sleek, zipper-free bag with magnetic closures and molded EVA panels for durable protection and instant access on the move.

Together they illustrate Lenovo’s design philosophy for a hybrid world with technology and tools that move seamlessly with their users.

ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist

Evolving from concept to commercial reality, the ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist introduces a motorized dual-rotation hinge that automatically adjusts the display to suit posture, mode, or presentation angle. The hinge’s new electromotor design rotates faster and more quietly than the earlier proof-of-concept, while enhanced durability ensures smooth, reliable transitions between notebook, tablet, and sharing modes.

Designed not only as a showcase of adaptive engineering but also as a dependable everyday system, the device offers the performance, build quality, and premium components that make it well suited for the diverse computing needs of SMBs.

Built on Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 3 processors with a unique Copilot+ PC experience, the ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist blends intelligent motion with premium craftsmanship. Its larger 14-inch 2.8K OLED display (120 Hz, 500 nits, Dolby Vision® support) delivers rich color and sharp contrast for presentations and creative work, complemented by front-facing Dolby Atmos® speakers that rotate in sync with the screen for consistent audio direction. A larger 75Wh battery provides long-lasting productivity, while the thin-and-light chassis (1.4 kg/3.09 pounds) maintains the clean ThinkBook aesthetic.

Following the ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist, Lenovo introduces its new SMB Vertical AI Solution, a suite of AI-enabled applications leveraging the high-performance computing power of ThinkStation workstations and also designed for ThinkBook and select commercial devices such as the ThinkCentre X Tower. Developed to enhance collaboration and content creation, it delivers more secure on-device meeting transcription, multilingual captioning, and coming soon, AI-assisted video generation, which is all processed locally for improved privacy and speed. This solution extends Lenovo’s commitment to bringing business-ready AI capabilities to its commercial portfolio while keeping data securely in the user’s hands.

ThinkCentre X Series

The ThinkCentre X AIO Aura Edition and ThinkCentre X Tower bring AI-ready performance and premium engineering to the desktop.

The ThinkCentre X AIO Aura Edition Copilot+ PC16 features a 27.6-inch 16:18 QHD display that offers a unique, nearly square viewing area that is ideal for creators, programmers, and data professionals who benefit from seeing two A4 pages or full data sets in an easy-to-view portrait display. Driven by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, it delivers efficient performance across a range of professional workflows.

An optional smart AI camera supports Lenovo DeskView, which is powered by Lenovo’s AI Turbo Engine software, to digitize documents placed in front of the screen for instant sharing, while four Harman Kardon® speakers and a quad mic array enable studio-grade collaboration. With Lenovo Share Zone, the AIO becomes both a computer and monitor at the same time, dividing the screen into two to display AIO content in one section and content from a connected external device in the other.

The all-new premium ThinkCentre X Tower delivers scalable desktop performance for AI and data-intensive workflows, supported by dual GPU options and Lenovo’s AI Fusion Solution, software that enables local post-training fine-tuning of models up to 70 billion parameters. Its 34-liter chassis improves airflow and serviceability, combining a biomimetic fan for quieter, more efficient cooling to help balance performance and thermals.

The ThinkCentre X Tower is also available with the Lenovo Sensor Hub assistant, a multimodal sensing system that draws on vision, radar, acoustic, and environmental inputs to interpret user presence and ambient conditions. This allows the desktop to process data locally and adjust performance, privacy, and power use in real time while keeping data on the device, reflecting Lenovo’s progress toward more adaptive and context-aware commercial desktops.
