Free seniors’ event arrives Sept. 24 with expert advice, community connection and more
Who says growing older means slowing down? In Vernon, aging is about living life to the fullest – staying active, learning new things and building meaningful connections.
The Vernon Young at Heart Seniors Expo celebrates that mindset with a lively, free event designed to support healthy, engaged aging. Coming to the Prestige Vernon Lodge and Conference Centre from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, the expo invites you to explore new health strategies, try a new activity or simply enjoy a day out with friends.
With more than 30 exhibitors under one roof, and a vibrant mix of education, wellness and community spirit, guests can explore the latest in health and wellness, mobility solutions, travel opportunities, legal support and financial planning. From practical tools to inspirational ideas, it’s a one-stop destination for seniors looking to live well and stay informed.
“Aging doesn’t mean stepping back – it means leaning in,” says Madison Worth, Senior Event Sales Executive at Black Press Events. “This event is about empowering seniors to live well, stay connected and keep exploring everything life has to offer.”
The day also provides a chance to socialize and get inspired.
“More than an event, the expo is a reminder that getting older can be one of the most rewarding chapters of your life,” adds Stephanie Rhodes, General Manager of Black Press Events. “We want to bring together people, services and ideas that help seniors feel supported and celebrated.”
Platinum sponsors Regency Retirement Resorts are proud supporters of the expo, alongside participants such as Vernon Optometry, Okanagan Respite and Senior Services and Parkwood Retirement Resort.
Beyond resources and expert advice, the expo includes games, interactive activities and a variety of giveaways.
Gold sponsor and guest speaker Senior Discovery Tours will share some of their must-visit destinations during a presentation at 11:30 a.m., and Lakeside Hearing is offering free hearing tests.
Whether you’re curious about joining a local club, seeking services to support independent living, or just want to enjoy some good company, there’s something for everyone.
Admission is free, and all are welcome. Skip the line by reserving your ticket here, or drop by on the day. Door prizes and giveaways will be offered throughout the event.
