CeeDee Lamb says he’s willing to restructure contract if it means Cowboys can keep George Pickens

If you ask the former Sooner, bringing the pending free agent Pickens back is a must for the Cowboys offense.

The Cowboys hit the offseason with two basic goals: improve on one of the NFL’s worst defense while retaining one of its best offenses.

When it comes to latter, the biggest piece in question is star wide receiver George Pickens.

Pickens is a pending free agent after posting career highs in yards, receptions and touchdowns in his single season with the Cowboys.

With a price range possibly in the $30 million range or more, there’s been a question about whether the Cowboys can afford to keep both Pickens and CeeDee Lamb in their receiver room, with Lamb’s price tag at $38 million for next season.

To Lamb’s credit, he appears willing to help.

While appearing on The Dan Patrick Show on Friday, the former Oklahoma Sooner was asked about whether his cohort and signature handshake partner will be returning to Dallas in 2026.

“He has no choice,” Lamb told Patrick with a smile. “I say that.”

After he and Pickens totaled over 2,500 receiving yards for the Cowboys’ offense last season, Lamb said he’d be willing to restructure his contract if it allows Dallas to keep Pickens and give him what Lamb says he deserves.

“I mean if it’s necessary, honestly,” Lamb said. “I’m pretty good but I know he’s gonna get every penny that he deserves here in Dallas.”

Lamb told Patrick that he feels the Cowboys are “very close” to getting back to a Super Bowl, with a need to just put some of the pieces together in 2026.

Sounds like if you ask CeeDee, the puzzle won’t fit together without Pickens.
