The video featured comments from Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson discussing decentralized finance (DeFi) opportunities involving XRP and the potential integration of Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin on the Cardano network.
In the first clip, Hoskinson spoke about the current state of XRP’s DeFi landscape, noting that despite the size of the XRP supply, there remains untapped potential. He added that pairing XRP and other digital assets with tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) could create significant total value locked (TVL) and higher transaction volumes across multiple blockchains.
Hoskinson emphasized the opportunity for collaboration, explaining that the new regulatory climate makes it possible for tokenized assets to enter DeFi ecosystems. In a second video clip, Hoskinson stated that his team wanted to help grow XRP’s DeFi presence by contributing to its infrastructure. “We believe XRP DeFi is very important,” he said, adding that stablecoins would play a major role.
Cardano creator specifically mentioned RLUSD, saying, “We would like to find a path to get RLUSD on Cardano,” and revealed that Cardano was willing to handle the integration for free as a gesture of goodwill toward the XRP community.
Hoskinson noted that discussions were ongoing regarding how to move forward in a way that benefits both parties. His comments suggest that the Cardano ecosystem could soon collaborate directly with Ripple-related projects, marking a shift from past years when the two communities were hostile toward each other.

Crypto AI Man sees Hoskinson’s comments as a major signal for what could come next for XRP and Cardano. He described Hoskinson’s statements as a bombshell and said the remarks show how DeFi on Bitcoin and XRP is poised to become a major sector in the market.
