The Cuban musician Cándido Fabré, widely recognized for his allegiance to the Havana regime, has once again vocalized his support for socialism, praising former Communist Party Secretary Lázaro Expósito Canto from Santiago de Cuba and Granma.
In a Facebook post, Fabré declared, “It has been proven that through revolution and socialism, a people can be motivated and advanced,” lauding Expósito as a “leader who has secured a place in the hearts of this nation, despite the embargo.”
For decades, Fabré has steadfastly supported communist ideology and the Cuban government’s policies. He claimed that Expósito transformed Granma and Santiago into “two beacons” that many aspired to emulate in order to uncover the magic and vision of that leader.
The singer also urged for “changing what must be changed” and called for the revolutionary discovery of a new leader, a “son, soldier, guardian of this historic nation,” hinting at the need for continuity within the political project of the regime, where top officials lack respect and admiration.
Fabré’s message is yet another endorsement of the communist system and its leaders at a time when the country is experiencing one of the most severe economic crises in its recent history.
Cándido Fabré, known for his numerous popular dance music tracks, has consistently supported the Communist Party and the legacy of Fidel Castro throughout his career. This stance has earned him admiration from official sectors and criticism from Cubans who call for political change on the island.
