SHREVEPORT, La. — The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office will begin accepting applications Wednesday for National Night Out block parties.
Residents in unincorporated areas of Caddo Parish who want to close their streets for gatherings on Oct. 7 must apply for a street-blocking permit.
Applications are available at the sheriff’s north and south substations and at the Patrol Office at 4910 North Market St. in Shreveport. Completed applications must be returned to the nearest substation by Sept. 22.
National Night Out is set for Oct. 7 in Caddo Parish. The annual event encourages residents to unite against crime through neighborhood gatherings and prevention activities.
“It’s a great opportunity to meet your neighbors, show support for law enforcement, and learn what’s happening in your community,” Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr. said in a statement. “Criminals can’t win if we are united in our approach to fighting crime. We must have a T.E.A.M. — Together Everyone Achieves More — attitude.”
