Trading in Build a Zoo doesn’t involve the exchange of Pets between two players; rather, it has you swap Pets with NPC Traders. You can approach the Trading station at any time and perform an exchange without having to coordinate with other players. That said, there are a few things to be mindful of, such as the value of the offered Pet. After all, NPC Traders are predefined, and the Pets they offer may or may not match the value of your Pet.
Here’s a quick guide on Trading in Build a Zoo, informing you of the mechanic and its unlock requirements.
Trading is a straightforward process that only requires you to have Pets in your inventory. If you don’t have any Pets in your inventory, walk over to your base, equip the Build tool, and hold the E button to pick one up. Then, approach the Trading station with the Pet in your hands, which will cause an NPC Trader to appear.
The NPC Trader will offer a Pet, the value of which can be viewed in the box above their head. Your Pet’s value will also be shown next to it to help you gauge whether the Trader’s deal is fair for you or not. If you wish to complete the exchange, hit the Accept button. In case you feel the deal is not worth the offered value, you may hit the Decline button.
For every successful deal, you will receive a Trade Point. Super Lucky Trades, a rare occurrence, grant you 3 Trade Points instead. Collect 1,000 Trade Points to unlock the Trading-exclusive Seraphine Pet.

Trading is not available by default; it has to be unlocked by unlocking the Epic Conveyor Belt. The Epic Conveyor Belt is the fourth conveyor belt upgrade, which can be purchased from the Conveyor menu. You can open the Conveyor menu from the button of the same name on the left side of the screen.
The Epic Conveyor Belt can only be unlocked if you’ve purchased every preceding conveyor upgrade. It costs 1,125,000 Cash to unlock this tier of the conveyor upgrades, which is quite easy even for a beginner.

Pet exchanges can be performed by approaching the Trading station with a Pet equipped.
The Seraphine Pet can be unlocked by collecting 1,000 Trade Points, which can be earned through successful trades.
The Trading station can be unlocked by purchasing the Epic Conveyor Belt upgrade.
