Beauty Easter eggs are starting to launch, with retailers competing to deliver the biggest and best spring treat. The latest edit to hit shelves is from Boots, where shoppers can pick up a curated selection of skincare, makeup and bodycare worth £276.88 for £55.
Designed as a seasonal refresh, the box focuses heavily on hydrating skincare and glow-boosting makeup alongside a handful of travel-friendly minis from premium brands. Inside, customers can expect to find top brands like No7, Elizabeth Arden, Sol de Janeiro and more.
Saving £221.88, the edit brings together 14 products, eight of which are full size, making it one of the larger seasonal edits available on the high street – and one of the highest value, too. To put it into perspective, its biggest rivals – LookFantastic and Glossybox – are priced at £60 and £50 respectively, placing this directly in the centre in terms of cost.
LookFantastic’s is worth over £220, while Glossybox’s is valued at £211, meaning Boots trumps them both on value – and by more than £50. Boots also comes out on top for product volume, too, with both LookFantastic and Glossybox offering seven products, which is half as many.
That said, Boots’ edit doesn’t come in an egg shaped box like its competitors, which some may argue makes it feel slightly less novel. Some of the highlights include the full-size First Aid Beauty Hydrating Dewy Gel Cream Moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid + Ceramides. The lightweight moisturiser is known for delivering hydration without feeling heavy on the skin.
Another standout is the full-size Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Florale Multi‑Purpose Dry Oil. This cult beauty product that can be used on the face, body and hair to add nourishment and a subtle floral scent.
Makeup lovers are catered for with several full-size items, including the No7 Pro Artist Powder Blush in Pink and the glossy ICONIC London Lip Plumping Gloss in Nearly Nude, both of which are spring-ready shades. The box also includes a mini of the viral Fenty Beauty Mini Grip Trip Mattifying + Blurring Primer. That said, some makeup items may not be universally suited to everyone.
There are also several skincare minis from prestige brands, including the Elizabeth Arden Retinol + HPR Ceramide Rapid Skin Renewing Eye Cream and Shiseido Vital Perfection Advanced Cream, which give shoppers the chance to try more expensive formulas without committing to the full price. However, both of these are sample or travel sizes, meaning they may only last a short time. Shoppers who prefer larger skincare products may find this slightly disappointing.
For those seeking something more budget-friendly, Next’s Luxury Beauty Egg costs £35, though it has a lower value than those above, coming in at £126. But overall, the Boots Easter Beauty Box offers a substantial saving and a well-rounded mix of cult favourites and luxury samples, making it a solid option for anyone looking to refresh their beauty routine for spring without spending hundreds of pounds.
