The Philippine men’s softball team closed its campaign in the International Exchange Tournament in Higashikagawa City, Japan on Sunday with an unbeaten record of 3 wins and 1 draw.
The Philippines opened its bid with a resounding 2-0 victory over local team Himeji.
From start to finish, the Cebuana Lhuillier-backed Blu Boys displayed precise pitching and tight defense to set the tone for the rest of the event.
The Blu Boys wrapped up the tournament with a grueling triple-header.
The team started the day with a 2-2 draw against Kagawa, Japan but quickly shifted gears with a dominant 16-0 victory over the under-23 team of Singapore capped the games with a decisive 9-0 win over the Hong Kong national team.

“This run is a strong validation of our hard work and preparation,” said Jean Henri Lhuillier, president of the Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines (Asa-Phil) and CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier.
“We are immensely proud of the boys and the way they executed as a unit. The tournament was a huge test but the challenges ahead are bigger and we are ready to meet them head-on.”

The three-day International Exchange Tournament is an invitational event that gathers softball teams from across Asia.
The event this year was participated by Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.
It provides invaluable international exposure and strengthens regional camaraderie among developing softball nations.
For the Blu Boys, the tournament is part of their preparations for the Southeast Asian Games next month where they aim to bring home the gold medal.
