Great Southern Treasures’ Bloom Festival set to return for spring, tickets now on sale for month-long programJacki ElezovichAlbany AdvertiserThu, 7 August 2025 1:00PM

A sense of excitement for the start of spring returned to the Great Southern this week with the release of tickets to the 15th annual Great Southern Treasures Bloom Festival.

The festival, organised by Great Southern Treasures with support from Australia’s South West and running this year from September 27 through to October 26, promises its well-known colour, creativity and community events with a new program showcasing more than 70 events across eight Great Southern shires.

The shires of Broomehill-Tambellup, Cranbrook, Gnowangerup, Jerramungup, Katanning, Kent, Kojonup and Woodanilling will host a range of events, showcasing the best of the region’s creatives, businesses, nature, and community spirit.

Held annually in the region since 2010, the festival welcomes in spring, or the Noongar season of djilba, and showcases the small towns that are the little-celebrated jewels in the Great Southern’s crown.

From wildflower walks and art trails to open gardens, agricultural shows, cultural events, workshops, live music, and food and wine experiences, the festival has become a celebration of the region, its natural wonders and its people.

“The Bloom Festival continues to go from strength to strength,” festival organiser Sophie Zalokar said.

“What began as a celebration of the wildflower season has evolved into a vibrant, collaborative event that brings communities together and draws thousands of visitors to the region.

“Bloom Festival is a true celebration of our region’a creativity, pride and connection to country.

“Behind every event is a passionate local, a community group or small business helping to create something meaningful and memorable for visitors.

“That’s what makes bloom so special.”

In 2024, the festival delivered 60 events and attracted over 19,000 attendees, injecting an estimated $3.1 million into local economies.

This year’s program also supports signature events like Wild Gravel, the Ravensthorpe Wildflower Show, and both the Katanning and Kojonup Agricultural Shows.

The full program and additional event information is available on the Great Southern Treasures website.
