BitMine Immersion Technologies shares rose Monday after the company said it held a large holding of ethereum cryptocurrency in reserve.
Shares were recently trading 14% higher at $58.63.
The cryptocurrency network company, which focuses on ethereum and bitcoin, said it held about 1.15 million ethereum units valued at $4,311 apiece, bringing its total holdings to about $4.96 billion.
The company began at the end of June to acquire the cryptocurrency as part of a new ethereum treasury strategy. Over the course of the next five weeks, the company said its holdings have become the third largest crypto treasury in the world, behind Microstrategy and Mara Blockchain.
