AVAX and XRP appear especially vulnerable if Bitcoin fails to hold its current support.
Just hours ahead of the weekly CME market opening, Bitcoin has lost its grip on the critical $70,000 level. As of writing, the world’s largest cryptocurrency is struggling to defend the $69,000 support zone. Earlier in the day, the market managed a modest rebound led by Dogecoin (DOGE), but sentiment quickly soured, setting the stage for the new week with a fresh wave of selling across the altcoin sector. In this analysis, we examine the latest outlook for DOGE, Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Ripple (XRP), and Avalanche (AVAX).
DOGE, ETH and SOL
Speculation surrounding X’s (formerly Twitter) potential roll-out of crypto trading tools fueled a rally in Dogecoin last week. This uptick echoed comments by Elon Musk earlier in February, where he suggested DOGE could “go to the moon.” However, as the broader crypto mood turned gloomy once again and whispers about X’s plans faded, DOGE’s price started to backtrack. Following a 20% surge, Dogecoin now eyes key support at $0.1017 — if this level doesn’t hold, sellers could push prices down toward $0.0910.

Ethereum, meanwhile, saw a shift in momentum after closing below $2,368, triggering a return of the $2,100 level as resistance. The token is now attempting to cling to support at $1,930. If Bitcoin’s struggles continue to weigh on the market, ETH could be stuck oscillating between $2,100 and $2,368, or, in a sharp turn, wick as low as $1,400 — a level not seen since April last year.
Solana finally put an end to its 142-day decline this month, bottoming out at $68 with a staggering 73% loss from its highs. As long as the $83 support holds, SOL could make a move toward $88 and $97. Still, Bitcoin’s trajectory remains the major influence; with Solana’s extreme selloff already stretching the downside, bears are likely waiting for a strong trigger before pressing further.
XRP and AVAX
Like Solana, Ripple’s XRP has joined the ranks of major altcoins deemed oversold by recent market standards. While $1.35 remains a robust support for the token, deep price wicks toward the $1 level have attracted profit-taking, making the $1.55 mark hard to reclaim. If today’s brief upside hadn’t reversed, XRP might have reached $1.76. The coin’s sensitivity to Bitcoin’s price swings is evident — its fate largely hinges on the broader market’s movement.
Should Bitcoin recover the $70,000 threshold, XRP is well positioned to benefit as one of the more responsive altcoins. If BTC fails to defend $69,000, however, not only could XRP’s recent gains evaporate, but the token could tumble back to test support at $1.35.
Avalanche (AVAX) continues to flash warning signs on the weekly chart, having formed three consecutive lower highs since March 2024. With market enthusiasm waning, network activity lagging expectations, fierce competition, and macro pressures like double-digit inflation, AVAX’s trajectory has reversed to mirror its 2022 levels. If AVAX closes below $8.6, the price could dive to $7 — erasing much of the gains from the early stages of the last bull cycle. Unless the token swiftly reclaims $14.55, AVAX remains in precarious territory.
