JAKARTA – The cryptocurrency market closed the final week of June 2025 on a relatively calm note, following a surge in volatility earlier in the week.
Although the price of Bitcoin (BTC) edged lower, its market capitalisation dominance rose sharply, reaching its highest level this month.
According to data from CoinMarketCap and Coinglass, Bitcoin briefly touched USD 108,000 on Friday morning (27/6), before retreating to USD 106,635 as of 6:00 AM local time.
The decline followed BTC’s failure to break through a supply zone on the four-hour chart, accompanied by bearish technical signals.
The Relative Strength Index (RSI) stood at 31, indicating seller dominance and sustained downward pressure.
Despite this, Bitcoin’s share of the overall crypto market climbed to 65%, the highest level in the past month. This indicates Bitcoin’s increasing weight in total crypto capitalisation amid weakening altcoin performance.
Meanwhile, Ethereum (ETH), the second-largest cryptocurrency, slipped 1.2% in the past 24 hours.
ETH is now trading at USD 2,426, down from its daily high of USD 2,457. The decline coincides with a 19% drop in daily trading volume, now at USD 15.9 billion.
Other coins such as Solana (SOL) and XRP also came under pressure.
SOL fell 1.5% to USD 141.62, while XRP posted a steeper correction of 2.33%, currently trading at USD 2.07.
However, XRP’s trading volume rose 9.2% to USD 2.98 billion, outperforming other altcoins.
Total crypto market capitalisation now stands at approximately USD 3.26 trillion, with daily trading volume down 3.6% to USD 95.69 billion.
According to analytics platform Coinglass, around 69,124 traders were liquidated in the past 24 hours, with total liquidations reaching USD 164.52 million.
Of that amount, USD 106.59 million came from long (buy) positions and USD 57.93 million from short (sell) positions.
The largest single liquidation occurred on Binance in the ETH/USDT pair, valued at USD 2.82 million.
The three crypto assets with the highest liquidation values in the past 24 hours were XRP (USD 786,480), ETH (USD 723,280), and SEI (USD 387,780).
Bitcoin also saw liquidations totalling USD 344,530. (EF/ZH)
