Cardano cofounder Charles Hoskinson has officially announced that Bitcoin (BTC) is now supported on Lace Wallet, marking a major milestone in the wallet’s multi-chain roadmap. Originally launched in 2023, Lace Wallet began testing Bitcoin integration earlier this year with the Lace 1.22 release, which allowed beta users to manage BTC on a testnet environment.
The update comes after Lace successfully passed a security audit, enabling full Bitcoin support in the latest Lace 1.24 version. This move brings native Bitcoin functionality to Lace users, expanding its reach beyond the Cardano (ADA) ecosystem and positioning the wallet as a key player in the growing multi-chain DeFi space.
But the expansion doesn’t stop there. During a recent AMA session, Hoskinson revealed that XRP will also be added to Lace Wallet in the near future.
