At the macro level, the total crypto market cap is down 7.8%, shedding roughly $300 billion. Nearly 35% of the decline came from Bitcoin [BTC], meaning the downtrend was “market-led”.
Yet, Binance Coin [BNB] has held up relatively well. Over the past year, BNB was up 20%, making it the only top-cap asset among the largest cryptocurrencies to close the year in the green, highlighting a key altcoin divergence.
On the charts, the Altcoin Season Index backs this up.
Notably, the index has returned to early July levels, down 57% from its mid-September peak of 80. In other words, the Q4 market crashes triggered a deeper correction across altcoins.
And yet, even looking at Q4, BNB’s strength stands out. A 17% dip for BNB is relatively modest, especially compared to Ethereum [ETH], which dropped 28%. That makes ETH 2x as weak as BNB over the quarter.
In this context, Binance Coin’s 2026 outlook looks firmly bullish.
2025 has been a key year for Binance Coin.
Backing this up, BNB’s technical strength is showing up on-chain, with fundamentals ticking up. BSC’s active addresses have hit a yearly high of 61 million. In this context, BNB’s institutional growth this year is no fluke.
The result? From a technical standpoint, in every bull move, Binance Coin has tended to outperform its rivals. Take Q3, for example: BNB posted a 53% quarterly gain, roughly 3x stronger than Bitcoin.
In short, BNB has triggered serious FOMO this year.
On both a structural and technical level, its outperformance across timeframes is backed by strong rotational flows and solid fundamentals. All this makes a rally to $2,000 in the next bull run look very likely.
