Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane provided the first update on the health of cornerback Tre’Davious White since he went down with an injury.
White sustained the knock on Thursday during Buffalo’s final training camp practice ahead of the team’s preseason finale against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday. White went to the locker room sitting in the front of a medical cart.
Since that moment, head coach Sean McDermott nor general manager Brandon Beane had taken part in any interviews…. until now. The GM spoke to WIVB-TV’s pregame show ahead of kickoff against the Bucs and gave a brief update.
It was not a clear one, as expected, and the leg injury currently does not have a timetable.
“Hopefully, we’ll get him back when we can. At this point, it’s just a matter of getting him through,” Beane said.
White appeared to be the likely starter across from Christian Benford at the outside cornerback positions for Buffalo’s defense. First-round rookie Maxwell Hairston has been out with a knee injury of his own as well.
Both injuries to White and Hairston potentially highlight a lack of depth at the cornerback position which will be monitored before roster cut-down day on Tuesday.
Bills Wire will continue to provide updates throughout the 2025 season.
