A Lone Wolf bikie who shot a man at point-blank range after luring him to an Inglewood house has been spared jail, with the judge blaming prosecutors for laying inadequate charges.
District Court of WA Judge Carmel Barbagallo described Aaron Michael Seagrim’s rap sheet — the WA charges alone are 29-pages long — as “long and terrible”.
She noted he had been sentenced to prison 10 times and had multiple stints on remand.
So it was “quite extraordinary” she could not send him back behind bars because the State had only charged him with unlawful wounding and possessing an unlicensed firearm over the May 2022 shooting.
Sentencing the 37-year-old ex-gang member this week, Judge Barbagallo described his crime as “absolutely cowardly”.

“You had the victim attend at the home where, for reasons unbeknown to him, it all turned very badly,” she said.
“You said that the victim had told you a couple of days before this night that he was having a few issues with a few outlaw motorcycle clubs.
“You told the police that you weren’t able to tell them what happened at the house that night, as you would get into the s… if you did.”
The court was told Seagrim phoned the 44-year-old, Daniel Luke Broadley, who he’d met days earlier and thought “was a good bloke”, asking him to fix a lock at the Sexton Road house.
Walking into the kitchen, Seagrim offered him a drink. Broadley picked it up, turned around to speak and “saw a rifle with a sawn-off barrel pointing at his face”.
“He thought . . . that was the end of him,” the judge said.
“He was like a trapped mouse.”
Seagrim shot him as he ran towards the front door, which Carlos Roberto Gidgup was blocking — holding a replica handgun — and pulled Broadley to the ground, where they struggled.
Broadley got free and sped off on his motorbike.
Seagrim told the writer of his pre-sentence report in August that Broadley had inquired about buying a gun from him for $10,000 and they argued about the cost.
Admitting he was a heavy meth user, Seagrim claimed he was trying to scare the victim and was aiming at the floor when he fired the gun — which the judge did not accept.
Judge Barbagallo sentenced him to three years in prison, suspended for two years, saying she was constrained by the charges.
“It is quite extraordinary . . . those offences do not truly reflect the seriousness of your criminality,” she said.
Days after the shooting, Gang Crime Supt John Hutchison said Broadley — also believed to have bikie links — had a run-in earlier that week with two OMCG members before escaping and going to police.
