“Thank you from the bottom of our hearts”
A Co Derry restaurant has announced that it will close the doors to its Strand Road location at the end of January.
Pyke ‘N’ Pommes has cited “increasing food costs, wage and National Insurance increases and constantly rising energy costs” as the reasons behind the closure.
In the social media post they let their followers know that they will close their doors to the restaurant on January 31. They said “the business is not sustainable anymore” and hoped that diners would join them one last time.
A statement read: “Dear friends of PNPs 53-55 Strand Road. After many unforgettable years of sharing burgers, tacos, beer, wine & memories with you, we’ve made the difficult decision to close the doors on 53-55 Strand Road. PNPs 53-55 Strand Road will serve its last meal on Saturday 31st January.
“Its been extremely difficult over the past few years with ever increasing food costs, wage and National Insurance increases, constantly rising energy costs. I could go on and on. The reality is, the business is not sustainable anymore.
“This decision hasn’t come easy. PNPs has been more than just a restaurant, its been a place where community gathered , friendships were made and countless celebrations were shared over good food, wine and beer. To everyone who supported us, dined with us & made PNPs feel like home.
“Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your loyalty and love have meant everything to us…I Hope you’ll all drop by for 1 last burger and and a toast of beer or wine. Peace and love always PNPs, PS. The pod will soon be open 7 days a week. Every cloud XX.”
