The public have been urged to stay away while a major police operation in under way in Sydney’s southwest after a man was reportedly seen with a firearm.
Emergency services were called to Wollongbar Ave in Panania early Friday morning, with police urging residents to stay away.
“Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command, as well as specialist resources, are on scene,” a police spokesman said.
“The public is urged to avoid the area.”
A man was seen running in the vicinity of the area with a firearm, The Daily Telegraph reports.
