The Auckland Fintech Expo 2025 is set to ignite the future of finance with a dynamic half-day gathering of innovators, investors, and tech trailblazers.
Far more than a typical showcase, this free event is where Aotearoa’s tech-driven financial future takes shape, featuring real conversations, hands-on demos, and the latest in AI, blockchain, and embedded banking.
Open to everyone from startup founders and developers to students and business leaders, the relaxed, market-style setup makes it as accessible as it is inspiring.
Auckland Council says the timing of the expo couldn’t be more relevant. New Zealand’s Fintech sector has grown four times faster than the broader tech industry over the past decade, with revenue increasing from NZD $160 million in 2013 to NZD $2.64 billion in 2023, marking a 10-year CAGR of 32%*.
This expansion reflects the sector’s pivotal role in transforming financial services and its increasing relevance to both consumers and businesses, it says. Growth is likely to accelerate further from 2026, once the new NZ Open Banking regulations are in place.
Hosted at GridAKL on Friday 25 July, from 1pm to 5pm, the expo is expected to attract more than 300 attendees, and will feature 30 handpicked exhibitors, each redefining how everyday people save, borrow, and transact, and how organisations operate at scale.

Attendees will include fintech founders, venture capital firms, banking professionals, tech talent, students, and more.
“This is where New Zealand’s Fintech ecosystem comes alive,” says organiser, Lucas Grossi.
“It’s not about hype but more about connection, innovation, and action.”
