Sri Lanka this week saw the launch of its first equity trading platform fully integrated with global charting and analytics provider TradingView, as stockbroker Asia Securities unveiled Athena, a move aimed at modernising the country’s capital markets and empowering online investors. TradingView, used by over 100 million investors across 200 countries, drives Athena’s analytics and trading capabilities. The platform combines advanced charting, customisable analytics and real-time execution with Asia Securities’ award-winning research and market insights, offering investors a single interface for trading and market analysis.
“Athena was designed to deliver both insight and innovation, two of our core values. It empowers our growing base of online investors, supports the digitalisation of Sri Lanka’s capital market and aligns it with the global standards. The local investors have played an incredible role in creating a vibrant stock market over the last five years and we want to support them with even more useful tools in their capital market journey. Athena does exactly that,” said Asia Securities Chairman Dumith Fernando at the launch held Tuesday evening.
Previously, the independent traders had to rely on fragmented tools for analysis and execution. Athena integrates these functions, offering mobile and web trading, advanced order placement, market depth views, real-time portfolio monitoring, custom watchlists and personalised alerts, all within one platform.
The launch also crowns a year of milestones for Asia Securities. The firm emerged as Sri Lanka’s top stockbroker by turnover share on the Colombo Stock Exchange in 2025, continuing a track record of leadership in the local brokerage industry. It was also named Best Stockbroker – Sri Lanka at FinanceAsia Awards 2025 for the sixth time, while its research team won Best Stockbroking Research Team at CFA Society Capital Market Awards 2025.
The Athena platform is now live at asecathena.asiasecurities.lk.
