Aria is tokenizing $100 million worth of Korean music catalogs through the Story Protocol, opening the door to a new market for tradable cultural intellectual property.
The company announced the launch on September 22, unveiling Aria PRIME, its institutional platform for managing and investing in high-value IP. Developed in partnership with Story Protocol and Contents Technologies, Aria PRIME will offer tokenized access to music rights that cover over half of South Korea’s global music distribution market.
Aria PRIME: Turning Culture into Capital
Aria PRIME is designed to manage extensive IP portfolios, including film franchises, music catalogs, and other entertainment rights. By tokenizing these assets into fungible units, rights holders gain enhanced liquidity and transparent ownership structures, while institutional investors can access them through blockchain-based infrastructure.
The platform is powered by the Story Layer 1 blockchain, built specifically for IP tokenization. Assets are created as Intellectual Property Real-World Assets, allowing fractional ownership, royalty generation, and integration with smart contracts for remixing and licensing. This approach not only provides financial utility but also enables innovative creative models.
Funding and Ecosystem Expansion
Earlier this month, Aria raised $15 million in seed and strategic funding at a $50 million valuation, with backing from Polychain Capital, Neo Classic Capital, and the Story Protocol Foundation. The company generates revenue through token launches, trading, and IP vault management, while strategically reducing costs to drive adoption.
The $100 million Korean music catalog represents Aria PRIME’s first step toward building a broader institutional market for cultural IP. Future expansions could include cinema, art, and other creative sectors, transforming cultural intellectual property into scalable financial assets.
By bridging capital markets with entertainment, Aria is positioning IP not just as creative output, but as a new form of investable capital.
