Apple may have just wrapped up its iPhone 17 launch, but it seems the company isn’t done for the year yet. All eyes are now on its next big announcement – the much-anticipated October event. If the usual pattern is anything to go by, this is when Apple typically turns the spotlight to its iPads and other smart devices. Rumours suggest the company could unveil the M5-powered iPad Pro, the long-awaited AirTag 2, and even updates to the Vision Pro headset. Apple’s October launches have always been a mix of surprises. Sometimes Apple likes to go all out with a big live event, while other times it takes a quieter route with online-only announcements. The following year, in 2022, the company skipped the stage and quietly dropped the M2 iPad and 10th-gen iPad through press releases – again on October 18. Last year, though, there was no event at all. Apple simply released the M4 MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini via a short video. Going by that pattern, 2025 could mark the return of a proper October event – something fans have been looking forward to.
Looking at how things have played out in recent years, it seems Apple now prefers the end of October for its fall launches. If that pattern continues, this year’s event could fall somewhere between October 28 and October 30. And, as usual, pre-orders for whatever Apple unveils will likely go live the following week, probably around November 7.
Coming to what’s expected, the M5 iPad Pro will likely take centre stage. Rumours suggest it could come with a sleeker OLED display, better performance, and some design tweaks. The AirTag 2 might also make an appearance with better tracking precision and upgraded Find My integration. Meanwhile, smaller updates to the Vision Pro could round out the event.
Of course, nothing is official yet – but with Apple’s October cycle back on track, fans may not have to wait long to find out.
