A “butler” was always alongside a boy known as “the Aristocrat of Evil.”
With Aniplex USA having previously acquired the rights to the Black Butler first season, the anime has moved about a bit in the last few years with streaming and the like. After a long time between projects, the property came back with a pair of seasons announced and Crunchyroll picking it up. The first of the new seasons saw an April 13th, 2024, premiere date for the Black Butler: Public School Arc. The next storyline to be adapted is the Emerald Witch Arc, which saw an April 5th, 2025, premiere date, again with Crunchyroll acquiring it.
Aniplex Japan has set the home video release plans for the series. The DVD and Blu-ray releases will be done across four volumes for the thirteen-episode run, with the DVD priced at 6,500 yen each and the Blu-rays at 7,500 yen each. The fourth volumes for both have an extra episode and are priced at 8,000 yen and 9,000 yen, respectively.
With the third set out earlier this month, we now have a look at the cover artwork below for it. Check out the full schedule and known details below.
Cast members for the season include Daisuke Ono as Sebastian, Maaya Sakamoto as Ciel, Toshiki Watanabe as Edgar Redmond, Junya Enoki as Lawrence Bluewer, Shunsuke Takeuchi as Herman Greenhill, Tatsumaru Tachibana as Gregory Violet, Rie Kugimiya as Sieglinde Sullivan, and Chikahiro Kobayashi as Wolfram.

Plot Concept: Just a stone’s throw from London lies the manor house of the illustrious Phantomhive earldom, its master one Ciel Phantomhive. Earl Phantomhive is a giant in the world of commerce, Queen Victoria’s faithful servant… and a slip of a twelve-year-old boy. Fortunately, his loyal butler, Sebastian, is ever at his side, ready to carry out the young master’s wishes. And whether Sebastian is called to save a dinner party gone awry or probe the dark secrets of London’s underbelly, there is practically nothing Sebastian cannot do. In fact, one might even say Sebastian is too good to be true… or at least, he is too good to be human…
