Crypto analysts are beginning to see the early signs of an altcoin resurgence, even as Bitcoin’s dominance continues to rise across the market.
According to Michaël van de Poppe, founder of MN Trading, the next altcoin season may be closer than many expect. He argued that while the current market structure looks different from previous cycles, the setup remains promising, provided Bitcoin stabilizes and begins trending upward again.
“We need Bitcoin to be bottoming out and trending upwards. Personally, I’d like to see a breakout above $112K.,” he said. “From there, ETH starts to do its second leg to $5,500-6,000. That will bring back the confidence.”
For now, however, the broader data paints a more cautious picture. The Altseason Index, which tracks capital rotation between Bitcoin and altcoins, has fallen sharply from 80 to 45, signaling that funds have shifted back toward Bitcoin.
Moreover, rising dominance has historically preceded the start of a fresh altcoin cycle, as liquidity first consolidates around BTC before flowing into smaller assets once momentum returns.
Market strategist Crypto Patel echoed this view, noting that patience remains key. “When this flips again, that’s when the real altcoin mania begins,” he said, adding that strategic positioning during these quieter phases often yields the best returns once the rotation resumes.
Meanwhile, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has shared his own perspective on what could define the next altcoin cycle. Speaking on emerging narratives, he pointed to the growing focus on privacy-first blockchain solutions powered by zero-knowledge proofs. “It’s not just alt season,” Hoskinson said. “There’s always a narrative behind it…and privacy is the big thing now.”
Hoskinson also highlighted Cardano’s Midnight project and its collaboration with Google Cloud as key examples of how innovation and scalability are evolving. He believes these developments could accelerate mainstream adoption and shape the next wave of growth across the crypto ecosystem.
