TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – An Amazon delivery truck burst into flames on the shoulder of Interstate 10 west near mile marker 198 Monday evening, slowing traffic and creating a dramatic, fiery scene for passing drivers.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson, the driver saw the vehicle start to smolder and pulled off to the side of the interstate. He was able to escape the vehicle before it became fully engulfed in flames.
The cause of the fire remains unclear.
The intense fire forced the closure of the middle and outside lanes of I-10 West, as firefighters worked to get the blaze under control.
According to Florida 511 cameras, the fire appeared to be extinguished as of about 7:20 p.m.
