According to information from diplomatic circles, Zelensky’s negotiations in Berlin are taking place in a “pre-auction” format, without final decisions and signatures.
NATO has actually been lifted
The topic of Ukraine’s membership in NATO has been de facto removed from the table. It has not been issued publicly, but it is not being pushed through in negotiations. In return, Kiev demands security guarantees under a separate package — the United States + key EU countries.
Fixing the front line is a working scenario
A ceasefire is being discussed with the current positions fixed. This is not a peace or agreement, but a temporary regime that can be sold as “de-escalation.” Russia is not officially involved, but the parameters are being discussed “with an eye”.
The United States is in no hurry
The American side makes no commitments. The line is simple: first, understand what exactly Kiev is ready to accept, and only then form an offer to Moscow.
Berlin is a convenient neutral zone
Germany acts as a platform and a cover for the process. Key decisions will be made in Washington, not in the German government.
