Akshay Kumar talks about stuntmen on The Great Indian Kapil Show

Akshay Kumar is closing out Season 3 of The Great Indian Kapil Show in true Akshay style — with laughs, gratitude, and a lot of heart.

The finale episode, streaming on Netflix tonight at 8 pm, just so happens to align with the release of his latest film Jolly LLB 3, making it a big day for the actor and his fans alike.

But beyond the jokes and playful punches, the episode takes a meaningful turn. In a touching moment, Akshay brings out the people he calls his “real heroes” — the stuntmen who’ve stood by him throughout his career.

A promo shared by the makers shows several of them joining him on stage, demonstrating their skills and sharing how much Akshay has supported them over the years.

“These are the real heroes for me. I have a career because of them,” Akshay says in the clip, clearly emotional.

The stuntmen go on to reveal something few people knew — that Akshay has been quietly paying for life insurance for every member of their union. No press releases, no fanfare. Just quiet, consistent care. It’s a side of the action star that fans rarely get to see.

Of course, with Kapil Sharma at the helm, the episode isn’t short on comedy. Kapil pokes fun at Akshay’s well-known punctuality, asking why he showed up late. With a grin, Akshay fires back, “I haven’t got my payment yet!”

The friendly roasting doesn’t stop there. When Kapil teases Akshay about doing so many films, wondering if it’s talent or “need,” Akshay shoots right back: “You’ve got three seasons on Netflix, two films, and now a café. You tell me — more talent or more expenses?”

Adding to the madness, Kiku Sharda pops up as the beloved Baburao from Hera Pheri, and Krushna Abhishek delivers a spot-on impression of Suniel Shetty — all in good fun.

Producer Firoz A. Nadiadwala has taken legal action against Netflix, claiming that The Great Indian Kapil Show used a character close to his heart — and his copyright — without asking.

Through his lawyer, Advocate Sana Raees Khan, Nadiadwala has sent a legal notice to the streaming platform, alleging that the show featured the iconic character Baburao, famously played by Paresh Rawal in the Phir Hera Pheri films, without seeking the necessary permissions.

For fans of Hindi cinema, Baburao is more than just a role — he’s a pop culture legend. With his thick glasses, confused charm, and unforgettable one-liners, he’s one of the most beloved comic characters in Bollywood history. And for Nadiadwala, who produced the films that gave Baburao life, it’s not just about nostalgia — it’s about intellectual property.

According to the notice, the character is an original creation tied directly to Nadiadwala’s production house, and any use of it requires formal approval. The legal team argues that using such a recognisable character without consent not only violates copyright but also undermines the creative and commercial value attached to it.

As of now, neither Netflix nor the creators of The Great Indian Kapil Show have responded publicly to the notice. But the development has sparked a conversation around ownership, homage, and where the line is drawn when celebrating iconic roles from film history — especially in comedy shows that often rely on impersonations and parody.
