MANSEHRA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 19th Jan, 2026) In line with government directives, the district administration has decided to launch a crackdown against illegal Afghan migrants residing in urban areas of Mansehra from January 19. The operation will target Afghan nationals living unlawfully in populated localities and running businesses without valid documentation.
According to official sources, nearly 1,100 shops and hotels in Mansehra city are reportedly owned or operated by Afghan migrants. In the first phase of the operation, all Afghan refugee camps in the district have already been closed, and migrants residing in these camps have been relocated.
The second phase of the action will focus on urban centers, particularly Shinkiari College Chowk, Baffa, Sabzi Mandi, and Dhodial, where a significant number of illegal Afghan migrants are said to be residing within civilian neighborhoods.
Deputy Commissioner Mansehra has issued formal instructions to all Assistant Commissioners, the police department, and other concerned institutions to ensure effective implementation of the operation. The authorities have been directed to identify illegal residents, take legal action where necessary, and ensure that the process is carried out strictly in accordance with the law.
Officials stated that the operation aims to regulate illegal residency, ensure public safety, and enforce government policies regarding undocumented foreign nationals. Law enforcement agencies will remain on high alert during the operation to maintain law and order in the affected areas.
The district administration has urged cooperation from the public and warned that strict action will be taken against those found violating residency and business regulations.
