A techie shared on Reddit that he is already planning to leave Accenture while still in his probation period, saying his work and inputs are not being valued.

Posting on ‘r/Accenture_India’ under the title ‘Planning to resign during probation’, he wrote, “Hi all, I recently joined Accenture on July 25 as a senior data engineer in MS Azure, having 4.5 years of experience.”

He explained his reasons for wanting to quit, saying, “I am not enjoying the work that my project entails. The project management is poor, and the client is naive and oblivious to their needs. They don’t approve of the analysis results I bring up because they don’t understand the technical aspects. Neither do my team leads, so I don’t get any backing during the presentations of my work.”

Calling the project a “dead tale,” he added, “This thing is going in a loop. The project seems like a dead tale to me, and even my colleagues who are in the same boat.”

The techie said he has started considering other options. “I am in the probation period now, so I am thinking of updating my resume, preparing, and starting interviews again for better pay and a more reasonable company,” he wrote.

He ended his post seeking advice from other users, saying, “Is it a wise decision or should I wait to gain some experience here before applying outside again? By the way, Accenture is my second organisation, my first being TCS. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.”

The post sparked discussion among fellow IT professionals who shared their experiences and encouraged him to prioritise job satisfaction and mental health over staying in a role that doesn’t align with his goals.

The conversation comes at a time when Accenture has been in the news for large-scale restructuring. The company recently reduced its workforce by over 11,000 employees and has reportedly spent more than $2 billion on severance in the past few years, as automation and changing business needs reshape the IT services landscape.
