YEREVAN, October 24. /ARKA/. With the support of Acba Bank, the sole greenhouse farm in the area is being developed in the village of Nor Yedesia, located in the Aragatsotn region with all technological operations managed by artificial intelligence, reported the bank’s press service.
The greenhouse, which spans more than 10 hectares, is projected to produce over 6,000 tons of tomatoes each year, the majority of which will be exported.
“Acba Bank remains committed to financing small and medium-sized farms while promoting the establishment and growth of larger agricultural enterprises. Our role extends beyond mere financial support; we also focus on knowledge transfer, experience sharing, market analysis, and providing access to innovative technologies. In this context, we are fortunate to have outstanding international partners eager to share their expertise,” stated Acba Bank CEO Hakob Andreasyan.
“Artificial intelligence will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient functioning of the greenhouse: sensor systems will be implemented. Several technical operations within the greenhouse will be executed using artificial intelligence. Specifically, it will manage the opening and closing of windows, regulate heating, and irrigate the crops. Of course, all these operations will be conducted under human oversight. The entire financing for the greenhouse is provided by Acba Bank, with the state subsidizing the interest on the loan. Without the financial backing of Acba Bank, the operation of this vast and monumental structure would not have been feasible,’ remarked Hayk Hunanyan, founder and director of Agro Prom.
“We have collaborated with various investors in Armenia for over a decade. Agro Prom operates with a high level of professionalism. The current state of this greenhouse is the result of just 1.5 months of effort: we completely levelled the rocky terrain and established a flat 10-hectare site,” commented Brice Richel, Sales Director of the French company Richel Group.
