The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), along with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and VERSA Advanced Maritime Services (VERSA), has established a partnership which aims to improve coastal transportation systems throughout the Emirate. The partnership will establish Seaglider operations in Abu Dhabi by 2028, which will transform the area’s transportation system while promoting environmentally friendly mobility solutions.
The Seagliders are fully electric, high-speed, zero-emission vessels that use the Wing-in-Ground (WIG) effect, allowing them to glide just above the sea surface. This innovative design significantly reduces travel times, offering a greener and more efficient means of transportation along Abu Dhabi’s coastal routes.
