
Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has lifted ban placed on the activities of National Union Of Road Transport Workers. Commissioner for Transport, Dr Chimezie Ukaegbu, made this known when he met with a delegation of the hnion in Umuahia.
He said: “This is as a result of this administration’s commitment to ensure fairness and a better transport environment as the government rolls out mass transit electric busses and total reform of the transport system in the state.”
National Chairman, NURTW, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsaya (MC Oluomo), represented by his deputy, Alhaji Aliyu Ore, promised that the union would carry cpout its activities inline with government policies and objectives.
Azode, aka, China, said the era of lawlessness is over: “This is a fresh opportunity to improve the face of transport in the state.” Other members of the executives include Chief Chuks Isaac, Ephraim Promise , Chief Ogaranku, Chief Eze Okwuleghe and Abacha Pius.
