The Capital Markets Board of Turkey (CMB) has imposed an access restriction on the global cryptocurrency exchange MEXC on the grounds of “unauthorized activity,” bringing it back into the spotlight due to serious claims of user grievances in Turkey. MEXC, which has become a nightmare for investors with “junk coin” listings, balances that were wiped out overnight, and blocks placed on winning accounts, has been inundated with complaints from thousands of Turkish investors.
In shared posts on complaint sites, some investors claimed that their account balances were zeroed overnight, while others alleged unauthorized access to their accounts. Users are requesting a review of transaction records and compensation for their losses, stating that they have not received any solutions from the support unit.

Some of the complaints regarding MEXC are as follows:
On November 24, a user stated in a complaint titled “All My Balance on My Mexc Account Suddenly Went to Zero, I Can’t Get a Solution from Support”:
“About two weeks ago on the Mexc platform, my balance in my account was zeroed out in November 2025. I had Bitcoin, Ethereum, and a few different coins worth between 6000-7000 TL in my account, but when I logged in, I saw that my balance was completely gone.
As soon as I noticed the situation, I messaged the Mexc support unit. However, every time I only receive an automatic response saying, ‘How can I help you?’ Even though I clearly explain the problem, they keep asking the same question repeatedly, and no concrete solution or investigation information is shared.
I demand that my balance of approximately 6000-7000 TL, which was in my Mexc account, be returned in full along with my coins, and that the details of this zeroing situation in my account be thoroughly investigated.”
Another user, in a complaint titled “Unauthorized Access to My MEXC Account and Lack of Security Notification Resulting in $6,250 Loss” made on January 1, stated:
“On January 1, 2026, around 5:00 PM, when I checked my Mexc account, I noticed that there had been unauthorized access to my account around 3:00 PM and transactions were made without my knowledge. I had approximately $6,250 worth of Aleo coins in my account. These Aleo coins were sold, and then for about half an hour, a coin named xi was bought at a high price and sold at a loss, attempting to zero out my balance. With the remaining $168, a pepe coin was purchased. There are no xi and pepe coins in my normal coin trading history; these transactions occurred entirely without my knowledge and consent.
Additionally, I have not received any warning regarding access to my account. Normally, whenever I log into my account, Mexc sends me a notification, but the fact that I did not receive any notification for this unauthorized access suggests a serious security vulnerability.
As soon as I noticed the incident, I immediately contacted the Mexc support unit and provided all the requested information. I stated that I suffered a loss, that the transactions did not belong to me, and requested that the necessary investigation be conducted to address my grievance.
My expectation from Mexc is a thorough investigation of these unauthorized transactions, the return of my Aleo coins that were sold without my knowledge to my account, and the full compensation of all my losses amounting to approximately $6,250. I kindly request that the grievance I experienced due to the issues with account security and notification system be resolved as soon as possible.”
