Media, publishing organisations to mark 75 years of service
The media and publishing community will gather in Vientiane this week to celebrate Mass Media and Publishing Day, marking 75 years of news delivery and public service by acting as the country’s voice to an increasingly broad audience.
The Party Central Committee’s Propaganda and Training Board, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, will host the two-day event at the National Culture Hall on August 11-12.
An exhibition showcasing media and publishing products will open on the morning of August 11, offering visitors a glimpse into the history and achievements of the media and publishing industry.
On August 12, a conference will discuss the role of the mass media and publishing in the current era of rapid development. In the afternoon, representatives from media outlets across the country will meet to share experiences and strengthen their bonds.
The anniversary is not only a celebration of the past but also a reminder of the vital role of the media and publishing in keeping the public informed, fostering understanding, and sharing government policies, laws, and regulations with all Lao citizens.
