Of the 459 candidates who qualified across India, several candidates mentored by Bhagwat secured top ranks
Hyderabad: A total of 66 candidates mentored for interviews by Additional Director General (ADG) Law and Order Mahesh Bhagwat and his team have successfully cleared the UPSC Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) Assistant Commandant Examination 2024, the results of which were declared on June 13, 2025.
Of the 459 candidates who qualified across India, several candidates mentored by Bhagwat secured top ranks. Notably, Shyam Yadav (AIR 2), Shreyas S (AIR 5), Kuldeep Bishnoi (AIR 13), Aniket Tribhuvan (AIR 20), Riya (AIR 35), and Siddhesh Yeole (AIR 49) made it to the top 50.
Selections from Telangana include Pettam Abhinav Varma of Mancherial (Rank 138), Bhanoth Lakshmi Vara Prasad of Khammam (Rank 256), and N Anil Kumar of Hyderabad (Rank 406). From Andhra Pradesh, Sanmala Ajay of YSR Kadapa district secured Rank 355. They all were mentored by ADG Mahesh Bhagwat.
ADG Bhagwat extended his gratitude to co-mentors who supported this initiative, including Retired ADG BSF Sanjeev Sood, DIG CRPF MA Rizwan, DIG SSB DN Bhombe, Senior Commandant CISF Pratap Punde, DC CISF Rakesh, international relations expert Dr Shailendra Deolankar, IRS officers Nitish Pathode (DC Customs, Ahmedabad), Swachand Chavan, and others.
Congratulating the successful candidates, ADG Bhagwat advised them to stay grounded and encouraged other aspirants to persevere. “Success should not go to your head. For those who didn’t make it this time believe in yourself. Perseverance is the key to cracking UPSC examinations,” he said.
The CAPF Assistant Commandant Exam, conducted annually by UPSC, opens career avenues in forces such as CISF, CRPF, BSF, ITBP, and SSB. Officers selected through this exam can rise up to the rank of Additional Director General (ADG). CAPF personnel play vital roles in border protection, internal security, VIP security, airport security, disaster response UN peacekeeping missions among others.
