The 2025 Project Connect, a one stop resource fair for families to connect with area social service organizations was held Tuesday at First United Methodist Church.
Jessica Vogt, executive director of Families First Partnership, said 45 different agencies shared resources with families during the event.
Vogt said the Nebraska Total Care dental van offered dental screening and cleanings while Hall of Fame Fades provided basic free haircuts to get children ready for school.
“The Nebraska Land Banks Grilling for Good Grill is also here offering free lunch to all attendees,” she added “And there are just plenty of people ready to meet new faces.
“This event is important because there are so many resources that not many people know about,” she said. “So, by getting them all in one place, community members can come and meet them to see what’s available.”

Nebraska Total Care Director of Marketing and Communications Jamaree Maack said her organization brought the dental van to North Platte to give free dental screening to anyone who wants to come.
“We are doing cleanings, screening, fluoride treatment and dental sealants for kids and some services for adults too,” she said. “It’s open to anyone who wants to be seen. We know that dental care is very difficult in this part of the state because there are not enough dentists for everyone, and a lot of people have difficulties being seen so we are trying to offer that service here today.”
Maack said they are very excited to be in North Platte and offer the services that so many people need.
Wednesday, the dental van was set to be in McCook.
Dema Wilson said she brought her four sons to get haircuts and all the fun stuff.
“We had a really good experience and met a lot of people and learned about community help and how we can get the resources we need throughout the school year,” she added.
Scott Kinney, the Oxford House re-entry coordinator for chapter said his organization is a recovery based sober living house. The organization also assists in re-entry programs for people coming out of prison, drug courts and drug and alcohol addiction that are ready for a change in life.
Kinney added that his group helps people reintegrate into their communities.
“We are trying to help them to learn how to be useful members of society,” he said.
