
FOUNTAIN INN, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Fountain Inn Police Department said two teens have been charged after officers responded to gunshots in a subdivision.
Officers said Zyheir Treshun Wallace and Andre Jabri Grant, both age 17, have been charged as adults with the following:
Police said they responded Sunday around 10:10 p.m. to reports about gunshots in the Country Chase Subdivision.
Officers reported a vehicle had driven past a home and fired multiple rounds towards the building. The shots struck both the home and a car parked in the driveway, according to police.
Officers said no one was hurt.
The police department said their officers quickly got a suspect vehicle description. Police said within minutes, an officer found a vehicle matching the description nearby. After further investigation, officers reported the two teen suspects had been arrested in connection with the shooting.
Officers said based on the investigation, this does not appear to be a random incident.
“This was a reckless act of violence that put innocent lives at risk,” Chief of Police Patrick Fortenberry said. “I am proud of the swift response by our officers, whose quick actions led to the immediate apprehension of those responsible. The safety of our community is our top priority, and we will continue working tirelessly to hold violent offenders accountable.”
