2 new visits, more offers, and former WIldcats find their new home in the Transfer Portal

The Transfer Portal doesn’t stop, not even in the middle of the night. Sports journalists everywhere are burning the midnight oil as players make announcements at all hours. But don’t worry, we are here to recap all the latest action for you. Kentucky found new visitors, extended some new offers, and saw a few former Cats find their new homes.

First up, the new visits. Former Florida State linebacker Justin Cryer visited Lexington this week and is an emerging option for the Cats’ shorthanded defense. On the offensive side, Elon’s Isaiah Fuhrmann is going to be on campus just a few days after his QB Landen Clark was on campus in Lexington.

Now, to the new offers. We have talked about how Will Stein views high school recruiting as the tool he will use to build his program in Lexington. But being hired so late in the year, the portal will become super important to the first-year head coach, and the offers aren’t slowing down.

The former Ohio Bobcat OL is getting a look by several programs, including Michigan State and Kentucky. He spent 3 years in the MAC, redshirting one of those years. He has 24 combined games over the 2 years he did play, playing in every game last year. At 6’3 and 287, he fits the mold of the newer, more agile lineman that Kentucky is trying to go after. He will be on campus soon.

Espinoza may be familiar to some of you reading this. He played for Bullitt East, then had a brief stint at Youngstown State before going to community college. He did have some off-the-field incidents in Youngstown; you can read more about those here. He is looking to schedule a vist soon.

True to his word, Stein continues to put pressure on the rest of the country in high school recruiting.

Mayfield is a top-200, 4-star player that Stein is trying to close ground on fast. He has several visits set up for the next couple of weeks. He will be at Texas A&M on the 17th, in Lexington on the 24th, NC State on the 31st, and then Indiana on February 1st. He is a part of the 2027 class.

Part of the class of 2027, Goldsby is drawing big-time program interest from teams like Oregon and Alabama. The Cats will host him as part of their Junior Day coming up and will look to make sure they keep a close tab on the talented 6’4 pass rusher.

A legit speedster for his size, Hall ran a 4.5 40 at 6’1. The Alabama product is also part of the 2027 class, where Stein is trying to make some serious headway. He currently has offers from programs like BYU and Auburn.

Ranked in the top 20 nationally, Prescott is a 5-star phenom who stands at 6’6. He had 5 sacks and 65 tackles last year as part of the class of 2028. This recruitment will be one of the big ones as we get closer to his commit date, but Kentucky is in the mix.

Williams is a 4-star DB/ATH who most project will end up at safety at the next level. He currently has offers from over 40 programs, including Auburn, Alabama, and Arkansas. The recruitment will be one that will go down to the wire for the class of 2027 star.

The 6-foot Atlanta product is currently in the class of 2027 with offers from Arkansas and West Virginia. He has 4.49 speed and a good vertical. He will most likely end up at CB in college.

The class of 2027 product is 6’1 and has offers from programs like Boston College, Louisville, and Indiana.

Now for the least fun part: there are several Kentucky players who have found their new homes. DL Austin Ramsey is heading to Kansas State. Meanwhile, Louisville picks up Montavin Quisenberry and the Smith twins, Jerod and Jacob. Steven Soles Jr. will be staying in the SEC as he signed with Arkansas.

But that is the nature of the portal; things move fast, and people find new homes. Stay tuned to our tracker for the latest news.
